Legacy Development Program is designed for children aged U5 to U12. The format of most games is 5v5, and some will advance to larger fields. There are several divisions in Total Soccer and each division has a program that meets the needs and desires of the varying age groups. Most players will have a program choice for the number of days they want to train. The total enrollment is usually 400-500 players in the Fall and 300-400 players in the Spring.
There are Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer programs. The Fall and Spring programs are 8-week programs offering 1-day or 2-day options. The Winter indoor program is also an 8-week program, offering a 1-day option (Fridays). There are several summer camps, usually a pre-season camp and a mid-summer camp. When registering, players generally sign up for one season at a time. All games and practice are in town, usually at the Pleasant Valley Park and at the Mountain Park. In Winter, the games are in one of the local school gyms.
For the U5-U8s, the Legacy Development Program is designed to introduce the children to the game of soccer in a safe environment guided by professional coaches, make the experience fun, and prepare them to be able to join Premier teams if they want to pursue soccer more actively.
For the U9-U12s, the Legacy Development Program offers the opportunity to play recreational soccer, either once or twice a week. It is generally a lower commitment and lower cost option compared to Premier. Coaches and the Director of Coaching may recommend to some players in this group who show skill and commitment to consider Premier as a better way to develop their skills.
